What We Do

The Sri Lanka Institute of Architects (SLIA) regulates the architectural profession by establishing standards for education, training, and practice. It accredits architecture programs at educational institutions to ensure they meet professional standards.

The ARB oversees the registration and licensing of those who are eligible to practice the profession of architecture in Sri Lanka. It maintains a register of those who are eligible and ensures that only those who meet the required standards are registered.

The SLIA provides opportunities for continuing education and professional development to ensure that architects maintain their skills and stay updated with industry trends and advancements.

The ARB enforces a code of ethics for the architectural profession as detailed in the Regulations of the SLIA. Violations are reported to the SLIA for disciplinary action and if found guilty, action is taken accordingly.

The SLIA advocates for the interests of architects in policy-making and industry regulations. It represents the profession in discussions with government bodies, industry stakeholders, and the public.

The SLIA promotes awareness and appreciation of architecture and architectural heritage. It organizes events, exhibitions, and competitions to highlight the role and value of architecture in society.
